Rafael Carranza

Rafael has extensive experience in corporate finance ,banking, and asset management developed over the past 25 years from various positions of responsibility in top financial groups. In the last 15 years, Rafael has belonged to BBVA group in Peru, first as CEO of Continental Bolsa, then as Managing Director of corporate banking of BBVA Banco Continental, later took over as Managing Director of global clients and investment banking, and in the last 5 years he has been CEO of AFP Horizonte. He was also CEO of Macrovalores. From his various responsibilities, he has led a large number of transactions, such as the structuring of the first program of sovereign bonds of the Peruvian Government, the exchange of shares of Telefonica del Peru by more than US$ 800 million. He has also led the structuring and subsequent placement of a large number of corporate bond issues, highlighting the CAF “Condor” bond of US$ 80 million, positioned in the countries of the Andean region. Recently, he concluded successfully the sale process of AFP Horizonte by an amount exceeding US$ 544 million. Mr. Carranza also has an extensive experience in the relationship with regulators and unions. He has been member of various boards such as the one of the Lima Stock Exchange, CAVALI, BBVA Continental mutual funds, BBVA Continental Sociedad Titulizadora, In-Peru, Peruvian Pension Funds Association.
